Movie Review: Hobbit - The battle of 5 Armies

The trilogy is made by virtue of the success of the Lord of the Rings series. And we have proven to be suckers for a marketing gimmick.

The Hobbit book is less than a centimetre thick yet the scriptwriters were able to conjure it into a trilogy. It's even longer than the original series!!

The plus for this final instalment is that it's shorter than the earlier 2. And that's about where the positives end.

Storyline wise, it's really flat. There's very little development in the story. It's not going anywhere. Fight scenes are aplenty. After a few, it just seems like pointless fighting.

If this series was actually screened before Lord of the rings, it would have been interesting. Now it's like a poor attempt to recapture the "ooh"s & "aah"s of the earlier trilogy.

My conclusion is simple. I watched it with the mindset to just complete the series. Hence my expectations are already reduced. I still felt bored....
