Surrogates

Watched on 3rd Oct @ The Grand Cathay

This movie actually had quite a build up to it's opening. So I was looking forward to a COOL movie. But in the end, it was not fantastic, it's good but just not fantastic. Maybe i'm just expecting too much from it. I think this movie is a product of people starting to shun away of AI. AI is hard to control, so we control the robots ourselves.

The story is about a world where humans are ALL couch potatoes. They spend their lifes at home controlling robots to do everything they wanna do. So there's practically no more humans in the streets, only lookalikes that are remotely controlled by couch-potato humans.

What I like about the story is that, there's a documentary like start to the show, kindda explains the history of how the surrogates came about. But common to these genre of movies, it only raise more questions that requires answers. That's the bad part about it, there's just too many questions in my head at the end. It's IRRITATING!!

The visual effect are cool, but it's the usual stuff, nothing new and out of this world.

Perfect Stranger

A suspense thriller with a huge twist in the show. From the start till almost the end, you'll guess who's the bad guy and who's the victim... as you go on.. you realise evidence pops up refuting your previous argument..

It's a very intriguing plot... it keeps you locked into the storyline... you want to solve the case... and yet everytime u take a step forward you realise you are going in circles... the ending is just simply unexpected...

Great acting from Bruce Willis & Halle Berry, really kept the suspense going on throughout the whole show..

Die Hard 4.0

Die Hard 4.0 is basically a hardcore action packed movie. From start till the end, the action is non-stop. Bruce Willis is back again in his 4th i and believe final installment of Die Hard, for those who have watch and still remembered the past 3 episodes. 1 was good, 2 was okay and 3 was there for the sake of being there. But i have to say 4.0 is pretty good all over again. The title Die Hard 4.0 gives me a hint that the movie will be about computers, and i was right, loads of high tech stuff going on.

Basically this show is pure action with a pretty cool and have a pretty well paced story line. 130 mins may seem alittle long on paper, but you will not be bored (provided you are interested in ACTION). It's basically man vs man/woman/car/heli/plane/computers... Everything!! And Man still wins.. Surprised??

Great show to catch, especially on boring afternoons. Maggi Q is also in this movie, and she plays the villain, now that's rare. Haha!! Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Bruce's daughter in the movie, and it's quite funny to see the 2 interact. Talking about funny, there are also quite a few laughing points in the movie, so it's quite a comedy too.
