Akai Ito - that's the name of the series version of THREADS OF DESTINY. And you know what? Dun waste your time on this MOVIE!! Just watch the series. BECAUSE it's exactly the same. You will realise how little filming they need to actually do for the movie. Almost 80% was copied from the series.
Nevertheless, this is still a very nice story. So nice that the movie does not do justice even to the series. I wonder how does the original novel even look like. The great thing is that this story does end well, unlike the sad ending which have become a staple in the japanese series diet.
